The issue of shutoffs was also discussed Wednesday at the launch of Bright Future Maryland, a coalition focused on energy costs.
"They're resuming their shutoffs on July 15. Yes, there are some protections for extreme heat, but once your power is off, it's not magically turning back on. This is a very significant threat," said Jennifer Beven-Dangel, deputy director of Economic Action Maryland.
